Service Description


Health Services at UWO offers on-site physiotherapy for students, staff and faculty.  Physiotherapy promotes wellness, mobility and independent function.  Through the use of physiotherapy, quality of life and movement potential are evaluated within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention, and rehabilitation.  Treatment for those whose movement and function are threatened by aging, sport  and work related injury, disease or environmental factors.

What do Physiotherapists do?


Physiotherapists are health professionals who are able to provide assessment and treatment to individuals to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and function throughout life. They are skilled in asessment and hands on management of a broad range of conditions that affect the musculoskeletal, circulatory , respiratory and nervous systems.

Physiotherapy provides treatement for the following conditions:

  • Any musculoskeletal pain or injury 
  • Neck pain /Whiplash/TMJ syndrome
  • Back pain/sciatica
  • Shoulder/ upper extremity pain
  • RSI/rotator cuff tendonitis/tennis elbow/carpal tunnel
  • Patellofemoral pain syndrome
  • Achilles tendonitis/ Plantar fasciitis
  • Muscle strains/ joint sprains/ arthritis
  • Post-operative rehabilitati
  • Treatment and management of respiratory and cardiac conditions
