Medical Care & Treatment
Student Health Services' staff includes physicians and nurses who are experienced in providing medical care to a young adult population. Anything you would see your family doctor for, you can see our medical staff for. Students can make an appointment by contacting SHS either in person or by phone. Patients can request an appointment with a physician of a specific gender and can ask to see the same doctor for each visit. For same-day appointments, students should contact SHS before 11 AM. Patients are asked to bring their health card with them and to check in with reception or using our electronic check in when they arrive for their appointment.

Counselling & Psychiatry
Maturing and growing emotionally can be a difficult process. Don't let your medical or emotional concerns affect your academic success. If you'd like to speak to a counsellor, call the counselling clinic for an appointment. Some typical issues people come to counselling for include stress, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, sexual difficulties, and a variety of family or relationship problems.

Birth Control Information
Birth Control Information sessions are offered to patients receiving, or interested in receiving, a prescription for birth control from Student Health Services. Sessions are about 45 minutes long and include information on medical issues related to breast exams, the importance of annual health exams and pap smears, the types of birth control available, proper use and what options are available if birth control methods fail. If you're interested in attending a session, contact Student Health Services.

Allergy Injections & Immunization
If you receive injections for allergies or for vitamin deficiencies, you can receive these injections at Student Health! Also, if you require an immunization injection, you can book an appointment to receive your shot with SHS. We offer a variety of immunizations, including tetanus-polio, hepatitis B, HPV and the influenza vaccine (flu shot).
|
Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing
SHS physicians can screen for all common sexually transmitted infections, including gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV and hepatitis B. STI testing is done with the utmost sensitivity and understanding. Please do not be embarrassed to come in for testing and treatment if necessary. It's better to come in and get tested than to worry, experience discomfort or wait for a condition to become worse.
